Newspapers close. Presses stop, sites go offline, and the address that carried a masthead for decades quietly stops resolving. Most directories simply delete those entries — which is how a paper that mattered for thirty years becomes impossible to look up.
This archive keeps them on record. Every title below once appeared in our country directories and no longer publishes, or its website has gone. Each entry keeps its own page with whatever we hold: a description, a preview of how the site looked, and the address it last used.

- Why keep newspapers that no longer exist?
- Because people still look for them. A masthead outlives its final edition — in citations, in family histories, in research — and a directory that deletes closed titles answers none of those searches.
- Do these papers still have working websites?
- No. That is what puts a title in this archive: either the paper stopped publishing, or its domain expired and the site is gone. Where a site is merely dormant but still online, we keep the paper in its country listing instead.
- Is a paper listed here gone for good?
- Not necessarily. Titles do return, and domains occasionally come back under the same owners. If a paper here has resumed publishing, tell us and we will move it back into its country's live listings.
